Bargain Shopping

$26.65

I wanted to share my grocery trip today at one of my favorite stores that I love to try and visit this place once a week.  We have a Country Market that is run by the Menonites.  I was able to purchase everything that you see here for a whopping total of $26.65.  If I had gone to any other store and paid full price for everything here, my total would have been over $60.00.

This Market has fresh fruit and vegetables at great prices.  They also have their own handmade fresh bread that they make.  It is really yummy especially the Cinnamon Loaf.  They are the type of store that gets closeout foods, dented cans and some things that are just out of date by a month. (Who cares if it is out of date).  It is usually something that would last for years to come.

6 Large Boxes of Cereal
8 mini boxes of Cereal
4 Cucumbers
2pks Knorr Dip Seasoning
2 pks Instant Potatos
2 Boxes Pop Tarts
4 pks of Individual Applesauses
1 box Blueberry Muffin Mix
2 Cans Carrots
2 Cans Crushed Pineapples
3 boxes Crackers
2 boxes Granola Bars
2 Boxes of Pasta
1 Can of Frosting

I would recommend anyone to try these sorts of country stores out.  I'm sure there may be one near you. They might save you tons of money on your grocery bill.  I am always looking for the best deals to stretch my dollar on food with such a huge crowd to feed.  I'm also putting away somethings for the summer when the kids are home for vacation.  They eat me out of the house usually over the summer.  My oldest comes home from College in exactly 2 weeks.  It will be nice to have her around the house plus I need to add her back into my food budget.

Elizabeth my little artist at work.  (Although, she is not so little anymore.  She is just about my height)  She had fun with chaulk in the driveway.  I had to take the picture from my bedroom window upstairs.  She handmade a gigantic card for one of her friends today out of a large posterboard.  She has some amazing talent with her art.  Maybe this is her future.  Who knows????

Sizzling Monday

Well, today soared to the 90 degree mark and boy was it humid.  I love the warm air but I like to be gradually led into it.  Things are starting to bloom around the house and now I'm just waiting for the black flies to start which should be anytime now.  I just can't stand them...it's probably my most unpopular time of the year.

We spent the day around the house.  Kids had a few friends over while on school vacation.  I've been trying to tackle decluttering the house and barn.

A little of Danni and Emily's work.

We still have Easter Candy left...Jelly Bean anyone?

Roxie striking a pose.

Our Forsythia Bushes just about in full bloom.

Our Cherry Tree starting to come back to life.  Someday this will bear us some nice fruit.

Our Chives are in full action.  Come help yourself to these they grow like crazy in our yard.

Pokey Sunday

What a beautiful day today turned out to be.  It was so nice to open up the windows and let the fresh air in.  I just love Sundays... They are a day to be lazy and do whatever you want.

Still not much color in the yard yet but it's coming...
Abbie being lazy as usual on Facebook.  Can't get her away from that laptop...she is in for a big surprise when the school asks for them back at the end of next month for the summer.  I can't wait.

Elizabeth, Emily and Danni decided to give Mom a full Spa treatment today.  I got the works as you can see.  They did my hair, face, nails and lotion on my legs and arms.  They had a blast working on Mommy.

Emily and Danni went for a bike ride around the block.
Brittany finally decided to clean her room today and I caught her snacking on a bowl of Captain Crunch Cereal.
Abbie finally tore herself away from the laptop and went outside to wait for her boyfriend "David" to come over and go for a walk.

Can you guess...

What this is?

New Jersey

Tim here...at the tail end of the first of three weeks in New Jersey. It took a few days but I finally settled in; found a local Catholic Church, located a Subway, Walmart, and Dollar Tree store. Training for next-level support on a print-production machine; lots of information to take in.

Missing Dianna and the kids terribly, though it helps that I downloaded a Skype app & am able to see them as well as talk with them, though it's still not the same.

The room is comfortable, and the staff are extremely friendly. Doing lots of reading, working on the novel, and sleeping almost 8 hours a night, which is unheard of for me.

Took a drive to Pennsylvania yesterday; hard to believe it was only 20 minutes away! Took a walk on a path that wound around a river; took some pictures and will post them later.

That's it for news from New Jersey!

Updates

We hope you are enjoying our posts so far...  Kids are on Spring vacation and we are busy around the house.  We have lots of spring cleaning and organizing to do.

We probably won't be posting things in order here.  Pictures are going to be all over the place from past or present and random at anytime.  I would like to share some of my recipes on here too that we really like.  We are stilling trying to figure out how to run this whole "Blog" thing.  I think we have done pretty good so far but I know there is still lots to learn.  Keep checking back to see what's new around here.
