We managed to finally go Apple Picking one day after church. I love doing this with the family. We had a lot of fun. We went to a place called Apple Acres which is less than 10 minutes from where we live. Unfortunately they were hit the night before with a frost and it effected 90% of their crop. They still had a section that was up on a hill that didn't seem to be affected by it. Still we were able to come home with a ton of apples and best of all they were only 50 cents a pound. We also visited their little shop inside were they make all kinds of goodies that are apple related. We left with some homemade apple cider that was outstanding.
After we got home we saw apple pie in our future and we made 2 pies that didn't last very long in the house. We are eating tons of apples...YUM and I see homemade applesauce making in my future as well.
I hope we do this again next year!
Back in August we took Danni and Emily to Story Land just before school started. Danni had won 2 tickets to go there after participating in a reading program over the summer. It was a perfect day. The weather was perfect. Not too hot and not too cold and best of all the park wasn't even that busy so we didn't have to wait long to get on the rides.
We love this park so much. We have been going there since Meagan was 18 months old. Timmy & I have just as much fun as the kids. It's a clean and very kid oriented park. I find they are quite pricey now a days due to that the original owners had sold the park out to some big place that runs other amusement parks.
Here are a bunch of photos that we took during our day trip. Enjoy!
