High School Prom Weekend

I didn't realize that it's been a week since I posted anything.  We have had a busy weekend.

Timmy finally arrived home safely Friday evening after an 8 hour commute from New Jersey where he finished up 3 weeks of training on a new machine that his company is selling. The kids and I were so excited to see him.  It's the longest that he has ever been away from home.  I did survive and the kids were really good for me.  They made a huge welcome home poster for him that we hung on the wall.  He loved it.

On Saturday, Abbie went to her boyfriend, David's Junior Prom.  She was a bit nervous because she didn't know what to expect at a Prom.  We spent the afternoon getting her ready and doing her hair.
They needed to be at the High School early to do a Grand March. I never had this when I went to school but it is really neat.  They set the gym up with a stage and a scenery from their theme "A Midnight in Paris".  The kids with their dates or with a group line up at the back, get introduced  and come up on stage to pose for pictures and show off their dresses and tuxes for everyone.  Plus the school TV aired it live.  Timmy and I went because we were chaufering them.  It lasted about 45 minutes.  Everyone looked georgeous, many pretty gowns with just a few that we could not believe some kids were wearing.  Many dresses are way too revealing and just should not be allowed to these things.  My girls have to wear something that is approved by us.  Abbie was able to wear Meagans prom dress, although we thought she would break her neck in the heels. :) Abbie is not the heel type of girl.  She practiced for a few days before just so she wouldn't look wobbly.  We recycle the dresses in this house because they are way too expensive to buy each year.  By the time Danni gets to High School she will have a whole closet of dresses to choose from.  She looked georgeous in the dress and it's funny how the same dress looks completely different on each one of the girls.

Abbie being like okay here come the pictures.

 Aren't they CUTE!!!

David is such a Ham and Abbie falls suit with him.

The other couple is David's Brother Peter and his date.

This is the stage that they got to pose on for pictures.  My camera didn't take good pictures here because it was too dark and we couldn't get close enough but I wanted you to see the set up.

We drove them to their destination which we could not find.  The people who put the directions together did not give anyone the correct ones and we were all driving around in the boonies trying to find a barn that was called "The Roost".  We've never been there before but have heard of it.  It was really set back in the middle of nowhere.  We eventually saw another vehicle and followed it and we finally managed to get there.

Abbie and David said it was very nice inside.  The decorating committe did a great job.  They had a huge buffet table with food that was good and then they cleared the floor for an evening of dancing.  They didn't finish up till Midnight and we didn't get home till just before 1 in the morning.  That was tough, I'm not used to being up that late.  Overall, Abbie had a wonderful time and is already looking forward to next years prom.

To end our weekend, I made a big pot of Spaghetti and Meatballs for our Sunday Dinner and I made my own Garlic Breadsticks.  (They are actually better than Olive Garden's.) Don't tell them that. :)

YUMMY!!!!
